What is Xenical? A drug designed to treat obesity. Its primary function is preventing the absorption of fats from the human diet, thereby reducing caloric intake. It is intended for use in conjunction with a physician-supervised reduced calorie diet.
DIRECTIONS:
Capsule - Comes as capsule to take by mouth. Do not split, chew or crush them. The capsule should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water.
Each time you take xenical, your meal should contain no more than about 30% of calories from fat. Take xenical during or up to 1 hour after a meal. If a meal is missed or does not have fat, you may skip your dose.
STORAGE:
- Keep it in its tightly closed container.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- Store the capsules and tablets at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
- Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
WARNING:
Before taking Xenical, Advice your Doctor and Pharmacist if you have these following
- If allergic to xenical or any other drugs.
- If you are taking prescription and nonprescription drugs.
- If you have or have ever had anorexia nervosa or bulimia, gallstones, thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney problems or if you consistently have problems absorbing food (malabsorption syndrome).
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
- If you become pregnant while taking xenical, advice your doctor.
