What is Ultram? Is an atypical opioid which is a centrally acting analgesic, used for treating moderate to severe pain.
DIRECTIONS:
Tablet - Comes as tablet to take by mouth. Do not split, chew or crush them. The tablets should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water.
Ultram can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more often, or take it for a longer period of time than prescribed by your doctor. Call your doctor if you find that you want to take extra medication or notice any other unusual changes in your behavior or mood.
STORAGE:
- Keep it in its tightly closed container.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- Store the capsules and tablets at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
- Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
WARNING:
Before taking Ultram, Advice your Doctor and Pharmacist if you have these following
- If allergic to Ultram or other narcotic pain medications
- If you are taking other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products.
- If you have or have ever had seizures, head injury, infection in your brain or nervous system, increased intracranial pressure (increased pressure within the skull), diabetes, breathing problems or lung disease, or kidney or liver disease.
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
- If you become pregnant while taking ultram, call your doctor.
- If you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking ultram.
- Avoid driving or operating any machinery while in the effect of the medication.
- Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages while taking this medication.
