What is Diflucan?
A drug commonly used to treat yeast infections such as oral, esophageal, vaginal candidiasis and fungal infections.
DIRECTIONS:
Capsule - Comes as capsule to take by mouth. Do not split, chew or crush them. The capsule should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water.
Liquid - Shake the liquid well before each use to mix the medication evenly.
It is usually taken once a day. You may need to take only one dose of diflucan, or you may need to take diflucan for several weeks or longer. The length of your treatment depends on your condition and on how well you respond to diflucan.
STORAGE:
- Keep it in its tightly closed container.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- Store the capsules and tablets at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
- Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
- Throw away any unused liquid medication after 14 days. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
WARNING:
Before taking Diflucan, Advice your Doctor and Pharmacist if you have these following
- If allergic to diflucan or other antifungal medications
- Do not take cisapride (Propulsid) while taking diflucan.
- If you are taking other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products.
- Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages while taking this medication.
- If you have or have ever had cancer, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), an irregular heartbeat or heart, kidney or liver disease.
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
- If you become pregnant while taking diflucan advice your doctor.
